Do you want to just ride up to camp and fly fish, relaxing in the shadow of the Wilson's Mountain Range and watch the night sky illuminate with trillions of stars.
We can build a tailored multi-day pack trip for your group!
For your pack trip, start off with a horseback ride leaving Woods Lake, traversing Wilson Mesa Trail to the 900 acre Schmid Ranch, Or leave from Lizard Head pass crossing the mountains reaching 11,300ft then descend into the valley below. Explore the wide web of trails, mountain streams and beaver ponds. Relax, fly fish, push cattle, paint, capture breath taking scenery through photography, hike, star gaze... it truly is endless. At night, enjoy a camp fire and tell stories, and watch the night sky light up like you have never seen before!

With this all inclusive trip, sleep under the stars, in canvas 4 walled tents or stay at the Schmid Ranch homestead, built in 1882, off the grid and deep in the heart of the mountains. You can find more info about the Schmid Ranch by following the link bellow.
Learn basic horsemanship, roping, round up cattle and do vet calls. The Schmid Ranch is a family owned ranch, working cattle and sheep. Learn what it means to be a cowboy and customize the length of your trip.
Our professional chef will cook all the meals and send us off each day with a packed lunch. Or spend your days, horse back riding, fly fish, relaxing, go on a hike and embracing the tranquility of the mountains!

There are many ways to start your dream pack trip! Up on Lizard head pass where we will climb to about 11,500 ft to the base of Lizard Head, Or start low on the shores of a stunning lake then traverse the mountain mesa's. There are many trails and directions we can head!
Ride where you can gain 360 degree views of the San Juan Mountains and open high alpine bowls, its no wonder why its a protected wilderness area!
We can traverse over a high mountain pass, descending to the valley's below, view waterfalls 20-30 feet high and explore old gold mines.
Our permitted camps will be set in a lush mountain pastures so remote, you will forget about the world beyond.
These trips are all custom designed and can be any number of days/nights. We only offer this trip for couple.
